Do you feel stuck looping through the WHYS of your past?

In choosing to embark on our healing journey the whys can take over causing self inflicting abuse.

When we are working through our childhood experiences the “Whys” can sometimes take over our minds, our minutes… days even weeks of our lives.

But what if underneath all of the abuse you are highly sensitive?

Highly sensitive people struggle to understand and to be understood.

They are question askers in general and this tendency is amplified when there is discrepancy between words and actions.

Highly sensitive people think deeply and when balanced think from a collective mindset. When violated the tendency can swing towards victimhood.

The indiscretion can overtake the amazing qualities and pain is all that they can see or feel. Here the We discreetly turns into an I camouflage in whys.

There is a stark difference between WE people and I people.

A Highly Sensitive brain is an evolved brain.

And then there is the highly sensitive adult who lived through abusive circumstances. The children grow up. The adults? Well sometimes, but more often the interactions just morph and change into something less overt.

Often the level of sensitivities coupled with the constant stream of whys are putting a strain on an already precarious situation.

Today.

It is common for the high sensitive child to become the target child.

We shine the light on things that are preferred hidden.

Which can  ingrain the feeling of exclusion from the family triggering another landslide of whys.

So many of the whys are wrapped around something that is incomprehensible.

They could never imagine themselves doing or saying…

Highly sensitive people need to understand and be understood.

So you can imagine how a highly sensitive child would feel in a family where total chaos was the norm. And the chaos came without any sort of explanations or any attempt at understanding.

Now seriously, not like many of you reading this don’t have ways to ask.

Why can take us down a rabbit hole of “yeah buts” and the “shoulds, woulds and could haves”.

We are creating and recreating stories built around the daydream of what we wish had happened or what we think should have happened.

“She could have taken me to school rather than berating me for being afraid to ride the bus.”

Yes that is true she could have. But she didn’t.

The truth of the moment is not going to change no matter how many times we recreate the story.

We get trapped in the feelings of a child that longed for encouragement and support. And the emotions come flooding in.

Let’s be clear there is no spiritual teacher that claims we should dive head first into our emotions.

In fact Buddha calls us to detach from them.

It’s time to turn around. It is exhausting walking uphill backwards.

If we are in the shoulds, woulds, coulds, or the whys, we are missing what is happening right now.

So instead of letting our emotions define us we can decipher them in regard to what needs to change for the feeling to dissipate.

YOU are NOT your emotions!

Now this is NOT about anyone understanding you until you understand you.

For example: Your husband came home in a foul mood and has a very short fuse. He is snapping. His responses are short and curt.

You can feel the old feelings growing in your belly. You are feeling like a child whose father is picking and poking at her verbally.

Is it getting in the way and overshadowing this moment with the pain of the past or is it there as a warning that you need to heed?

Your responsibility? Before things escalate lets redirect him up to the shower to help shift that energy and wash away the yuck of the day.

While he is gone we look at the stories that erupted and excavate the truth.

Your husband had a bad day and his behavior is possibly not acceptable and in that case again we direct him up to the shower with a – no thank you.

It is important to discern whether we are triggering an old wound or if the current situation is to blame.

If the emotional reaction is distorted we know that that is our work to do.

For example: The emotion that rises around the school bus is an indicator that there is a stuck moment. In recognition we take responsibility to rectify that, which can happen quickly using the Quantum Therapeutix Method.

Any time we are being yanked backwards there is an opportunity to rectify the entanglement.

In Quantum Therapeutix that means this moment won’t have to be revisited again.

I had a session today with a new client.

It was our second session. I could tell she was wiggling around wanting to tell me about something.

She said: Tell me more about this quantum jumping thing. I explained how it worked and she began to tell me a story about the separation of her family when she was 4.

She was quite upset.

She struggled with jumping at first.

Her head was in the way.

But with our second attempt she was adept and commanded the rescue of the 4 year old version of herself.

During this experience I guided her to open her gaze to the rest of the situation at hand.

Did mom have any choices?

As we dove in and she witnessed she gained a new more rounded view of the situation and the people involved.

On her ride home she shared: I can’t believe it. It’s not even the same memory anymore.

The emotion of the misconceptions of the child were released and freedom of the child was embraced.

How does the energy of healing intertwine with – forgiveness?

She “Turned the other Cheek”

I love the metaphysical energy around “turn the other cheek”.

Metaphysically forgiveness means the release of the emotional charge.

That means instead of focusing your time and energy on the wrongs of the past we are turning that energy toward something that can grow.

Any time we turn our cheek one way or the other we are turning our gaze toward something new and different.

Much like redirecting a child?

This same teacher claims that enlightenment is like going back to the wonderment of childhood.

The amazing thing about children is their ability to move on.

When we can get a child interested in something else they loose track of their upset feelings.

Whatever we focus on grows with the energy we poor into it.

If we are pouring energy of despair and hate on this current moment this current moment will be remembered colored with the veils of despair and hate.

Everything will look grim and gray.

So in our current scenario it is important to turn the other cheek so to speak.

Look around.

  • What else is going on?
  • Is mom doing ok?
  • Is she preoccupied?
  • Is she making statements like this often or just around the bus?
  • What was it like to ride on the bus?
  • Did you make friends?
  • Did mom really berate you?
  • Did she loose her cool this day?

As you delve into this line of questioning we are rounding out the story to include moms’ wellbeing.

And we turn the cheek further to encompass our life today… inching our way around to the forward facing position.

We silence the whys and turn our focus to right now.

What is the better way of investing your current minutes.

Because here is the thing. All of your internal whys and whirling around scenarios changes nothing.

It just robs us of today.

We live in a world where shit happens.

For a human to not have emotional reactions to life’s shitty circumstances is unrealistic.

Our goal is to be up to date.

The emotion that we are interacting with is current emotion.

The tapes that we are playing are up to date.

And we walk through life’s circumstances with knowledge of who you are.

What you know.

And you are completely in charge of yourself.
